Hearts & Homes Series

home-heart-no-clickIf you’ve been a long time reader, you know I’ve had troubles with regular employment as well as making the payments on our home. We have been looking down the barrel of the forclosure shotgun for so long it doesn’t even feel real sometimes. We are trying to save our home, but I couldn’t even give you the odds it might happen.

As I have started writing about our real situation, from the heart, I have met others who are in similar situations. I want to share their stories, too, because I know I’m not the only one going through hard times.

Here are the stories of the amazing people who have been brave enough to share them. Please give them some encouragement with comments. If we all support each other it makes it a little easier to get through our messes – whatever they may be.

If you have a story about financial or house insecurity you would like to share (spouse or you out of work, foreclosure, an unexpected expense you hadn’t planned for, or anything else that was important to you) please let me know. I offer several options for the level of anonymity you prefer.

  • Fake name, no link. The highest level of anonymity. You make up a name and location and I post your story as is. I’m not a fact checker – I will trust you and hope that you will be as honest as possible. Feel free to change names and locations at will, though, because I do want you to feel protected.
  • Real name, no link. You can use your real first name and last initial,  your online alias, or your first name and last name.
  • Real name, link to your website or FB page. You can use your real name or real online name everyone knows you by and I’m happy to link back to your blog, your FB page, your Twitter page, or whatever else you would like.

Your story will be posted on the “regular” blog and it will also be here on this page for people learning about the Hearts & Homes Program. I want to make it as easy as possible for someone who is in crisis to find comfort or at least a sense of being a little less alone in their journey.

Also, at any time you can ask to have your story removed, or your name changed to a fake one, or a link changed.

On To The Stories!

Our first story is from Wendi and she blogs at Sudden Silence. Her foreclosure story is ongoing and will be updated as more information is available. It’s a long one, so grab a cup of coffee or tea and settle in for a great, well written story.
