Ok, so many of you remember back in 2010 when I won an amazing chance to be in a weight-loss challenge, right? If not, it’s okay because you’re going to experience the whole thing all over again like Bill Murray in Groundhog Day.
Except this time, instead of forcing myself to eat all those grains you know I don’t like I’m going to do Mamavation differently. I’m doing it paleo-style. Ok, primal-style. To me it’s interchangeable but I know it’s really not so I want to be clear about the Primal vs. Paleo designation.
So what does primal Mamavation entail? First off, it entails getting on a scale and taking some before pics.
The Before Pics (or, I love my bedroom walls)
I love my bedroom color. The white looks great against it, too. But enough about how my bedroom is my favorite room in the house. As you can see my starting number for this challenge is 318.4lbs. I have never been defined by that number so it’s not a big deal for me to share it. Those of you that have seen me already know what I look like so the pictures are no big deal, either. I’m cool with myself no matter what my size. I just love Primal and think this is going to be a great journey.
Of course, I didn’t want to leave you hanging with just that starting picture. Oh no. That was last Sunday and this is this Sunday and in order to get this post up for Mamavation Monday I do this on Sunday. That makes sense, right? Ok, good. I am not a procrastinator and don’t like leaving things until the last minute. Not one bit.
So here’s my big one week reveal.
Week 1: By the Numbers
So yeah. In case you can’t read those numbers let me break it down for you. Actually, first let me break down that I have ankles, just not when I’m crouched and bent so I can take a picture of the scale close enough you can read it. Try it at home, see how that works out for you and how great your legs look. Moving on…
Current Weight: 307.2lbs.
Lost Since First Weigh In 8/24/12: 11.2lbs.
Total Body Fat Percentage Lost: 3.52%
The Plot Twist!
The other twist on this is that it’s a team effort. My numbers don’t count just for me. You’ll have to see what Shelley posts to see what our combined numbers are. I’m not doing her numbers for her, I’m just doing mine and supporting her and she’s going to rock out in her own way!
But Wait, There’s More
This week kicked off the official start of Mamavation Campaign #13 (lucky gals!) so while I’m still in pre-campaign mode – the graduate campaign doesn’t officially start until after Campaign #13 and I’ve decided to call it the Mamavation Quarter Quell since we’re all former graduates coming back. I mean, some of the competitors are going to be hungry so that whole Hunger Games tie-in won’t be too out of reach. We could all wear Mockingjay pins and lift our fingers in that weird District 9 Girl Scout salute gone wrong. It could be an amazing experience.
