This morning as I was dragging myself from my coffee cup to my bedroom to change into workout clothes, I had a weird thought.

What if I slept in my workout clothes? Then, when the alarm goes off in the morning, I could just get up and do what I need to do.

Does it sound crazy? I’d put on a clean workout outfit and then get up and workout. It seems really simple but after I thought of it I realized I have never seen anyone recommend it or say they did it. Of course, I’m not deep into the fitness community online or anything, but you’d think this would be on every Top Ten Ways to Make Your Workout Easier list on every blog on fitness ever if it’s as good an idea as it sounds.

Have you ever slept in workout clothes to make sure you get your workout in every morning? Do you know anyone that’s done it? What do you think of the idea?

  1. If it works to get your workout done in the morning, then do it!
Heck, I sleep in shorts and a t-shirt anyway, so why not your actual workout wear??

    • Tracy – I think I’m going to try it. I sleep in a tank top as it is, maybe a sports bra will be basically the same. LOL

  2. Hey, I am ALL about cutting out extra steps in a process. LOL If it saves time (and precious energy) then, why not? I will be the gross one and say that I have slept in workout clothes, after an evening workout, but that is a different blog post. Ha! Do it, let us know how it works for ya! 🙂

    • Kimberly – there is NO shame in sleeping in workout clothes after an evening workout. Things happen.

  3. I see your point, but my new sports bras are really, really comfy so it could work. Maybe. LOL

  4. The thing with me is regardless of what I slept in if I don’t get it off first thing in the morning I have one of THOSE days. It’s like karma kicking me in the rear for not getting dressed.

I’ve slept in my “workout” clothes before and I was all BLAH in the morning and just couldn’t get myself motivated.

To me there is just that mental step of taking off the night and putting on the day. Or some crazy amazing sounding statement like that 🙂

Of course though that is totally me and my messed up brain process!
